Utilization of FR-Configurator and its VSD compatibility, OS Compatibility, Connection options and communication cabling requirements

Introduction

This section will cover the utilization of the FR-Configurator VFD parameterization configuration engineering software on the FREQROL VFD series – as well as the requirements applicable.

FR Configurator 1.1 (FR-SW1-SETUP-WE)

The FR-Configurator software compatibility for FREQROL inverters and Windows OS;

  • Compatible drives: FR-A520, FR-E520, FR-S520, FR-V520
  • Compatible OS: 32-Bit: Win95, Win98, WinNT, Win2000, WinME, WinXP
  • Drive connection method: RS-485\RS-422
  • Cable connection type: SGLPEV-T

  • Drive connection method: RS-485\RS-422 and USB
  • Cable connection type: For RS-485\RS-422: DINV-CABV
  • Cable connection type: For USB: B type receptacle cable (USB printer cable) or MR-J3USBCBL3M

What about FR-Configurator interconnection with FR-CS80 Drives?

They can be configured via FR-Configurator2 v1.12N or Higher)

For FR-CS80, FR-A800 and FR-F800 – FR-Configurator2.

For FR-D700 and FR-E700 – FR- Configurator1.3

 

Interconnection Mediums

Most FR-A800 and FR0F800 drives use a mini-USB connector cable for interfacing

Connection is being established via a standard Mini USB B type cable:

OPTION 1 For connection to the PU Port:

This interface has is the following cable; SC-FRPC (SCFRPC) (Green inverter communication cable – also known as the green mamba)

OPTION 2 For connection to the USB Port:

To summarize –

Most FR-A800 and FR-F800 drives use a mini-USB connector cable for interfacing.

The rest (FR-CS80, FR-E700 and FR-D700) will require interconnection via the RS-485 serial interconnection interface.
