Step 1: User Group Read Selection

Prior to the configuration settings setup for RS-485 communication, it is important to first set the User Group Read selection (Pr.160) . This value needs to be set as “Display simple mode + extended parameters. Pr.160 = 0.

Step 2: RS-485 communication settings based on initial settings and specifications.

These Configuration settings are to be set accordingly as per the other communication nodes in the network, and in accordance to the communication settings of the master node (e.g. PLC) in the network.

The basic RS-485 settings are:

Station ID of the drive (must be unique)

Communication Speed, Bit lengths, parity, protocol etc. needs to be set up correctly in order for communication to resume.
