A short discussion on the FREQROL Solar VFD Inverter Drive Series – pointing out the types and availability. 

Utilization

These drives can be applied in remote and rural areas where grid power is unavailable. In addition, diesel generators are not very eco-friendly and not cost-efficient (due to high running costs)

Radiation Availability

Radiation availability\intensity plays a large role in application requirements. South Africa has a relatively high radiation level, which is favourable for solar drives application.

The Product Series

Drives with an E12 suffix – are solar capable. These would be limited to FR-D700 and FR-E700 only. (Being factory Solar ready.). As such we are looking at;

  • FR-D700-E12 – Compact and Cost-Efficient (also for relatively smaller motors)
  • FR-E700-E12 – Semi-modular with advanced option cards (also for relatively larger motors)

However, in cases where specialized fluid reticulation work and Advanced energy-efficient systems (FR-F800) or in cases where High torque systems(FR-A800) are required, a customized drive could be arranged – by request.
