A GOT (Graphic Operation Terminal), also referred to as a terminal or HMI) is a type of HMI (Human-Machine Interface). It is a piece of hardware, used as an intermediary device between a human (plant operator) and a system or a process (plant) for monitoring and control purposes. It is intended to provide information to the operator and allows the operator to control the process, A GOT is usually connected to an actuator (VFD) or a brain (PLC), which in turn controls the plant applicable. GOTs usually come in the form of a touchscreen with at least one network connection point (usually ethernet, but in some cases, serial).
