Introduction
Exchanging project files has often been difficult because software typically creates several files spread across a directory structure. This document shows how a single compressed file can be created that can easily be sent to other people.
Design Constraints
When a GT Designer GOT HMI project is created and saved, a directory is created with the same name as the workspace Name given to the project. This directory contains several other directories and files within those directories that are all part of the same GOT project. To exchange this project with other people, all files and directories must be copied.
GT Designer 2 has a feature that enables the user to create one, much smaller compressed file containing the entire GOT project that is both easy and simple to send to other people. From the GT Designer Project Menu, select Compressed File Handling, and the Create Compressed File as shown below.
As you can see from the above image, to import the compressed file you simply select Import Compressed File from the same menu.
NOTE:
The compressed file will have the extension GTW, i.e., TEST.GTW.
