Introduction

For support of legacy products, customer may still need to use the DOS MEDOC PLC programming software. This software will happily run in a Windows DOS box but it cannot normally communicate from a serial port due to the fact that the Windows operating system gets in the way of the communication messages.

Design Considerations

To enable the Mitsubishi DOS MEDOC PLC programming software to make serial communications to a PLC, the following must be added to the command line when MEDOC is run.

In other words, the full Windows RUN feature command line may look like the example below.

C:\medoc\medoc.exe e3F12

Example of this command line from the Windows RUN feature:

NOTE

This solution has only been tested on Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3.
